The Greatest Portuguese Music Festival Abroad !
Education Programme
Education
The Atlantic Waves education programme is committed to promoting active learning and critical engagement in music events. Inspired by the extraordinary diversity of great musicians appearing at the festival every year, its workshops offer unique opportunities to learn and interact with all those involved in the event. The project aims to assist a young audience in broadening its knowledge of different music styles and developing an understanding of the different professional inputs that go to make up a performance.
Workshops
At the workshops, participants will visit the backstage, meet the festival’s team, engage in conversation with the artists and, in some cases, attend rehearsals and concerts. Short taster sessions in schools will introduce potential participants to the workshops’ format and style. Participants will come from primary and secondary schools in Central London, with CfBT Action Zone of Brixton and North Lambeth and Projecto MENTORES also involved in the programme.

Further Action
Concert attendance, workshops and conversations with artists and technicians will stimulate the participants and promote their engagement with the arts. As those involved will encounter several music-related professions over the course of the programme, Atlantic Waves is working in collaboration with Projecto MENTORES, which can provide further professional advice.
