A Lambeth-based network of Voluntary and Community organisations formed to ensure that the sector gets adequate representation within Lambeth.

The Lambeth Community Empowerment Network (CEN) is a Lambeth-based network of voluntary and community organisations formed to ensure that the sector gets adequate representation within Lambeth.
CEN has been set up by the UK Government to help voluntary and community groups and residents' groups get involved as equal and full partners in the Lambeth Local Strategic Partnership (LSP).
The CEN also helps the local community and voluntary sector to influence decisions made by the Lambeth LSP. Funding is available through the Community Empowerment Fund to do this.
The network was established to ensure that residents and groups in Lambeth can play an active role in renewing the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods by helping to determine how the government's Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (NRF) is distributed within Lambeth as well as giving us a chance to have our views heard on a range of issues affecting the voluntary and community sector. ( NRF/NRUnit is part of the UK Department for Communities and Local Goverment ).
The Lambeth LSP is made up of representatives from the public sector (council, health, social services, housing and police), private sector (businesses) and voluntary/community sector to work in partnership. The LSP aims to make neighbourhoods and services better by involving local people in decision making and planning.
