A convite do Dept. de Educação da Câmara de Lambeth o Projecto MENTORES reuniu no dia 3 de Maio com a Direcção do Lambeth Education Business Partnership. Desta reunião exploratória saiu também a aprovação da recomendação formal do Projecto MENTORES para inscrição no Lambeth Voluntary Action Council (VAC) e no Lambeth Community Empowerment Network (CEN).

EBPartnerships – building a future for Lambeth’s young people
The mission of Lambeth Education Business Partnership (EBP) is to support the improvement of education, employment and life opportunities for the people of Lambeth. We bring schools and employers together to improve the skills, motivation and aspirations of young people in the borough.

The need for education-business partnership
Despite improvements in Lambeth schools, some young people achieve few or no qualifications. Students who fail to achieve even basic skills are increasingly more likely to become poor, unemployed and disaffected adults. For children to reach their full potential, education needs to keep in touch with business and young people need to have an ever-growing awareness of skills and knowledge required in the workplace.

Lambeth EBP helps pupils to develop skills which will allow them to enter employment successfully.
